This type of course is useful for most tech workers. However, it’s particularly applicable for those that want to go on to become UX Designers, User Researchers, Interaction Designers, or Visual Designers. After taking this course individuals can branch into different directions – the main 3 are User Research, Interaction Design, and Visual Design.
Have you ever used a piece of software and struggled the whole time, trying to find out how to save your file or take a simple action? Possibly you thought you were just dumb, or you couldn’t figure it out for some reason. Most likely, that piece of software was designed poorly – because they didn’t hire a good User Experience Designer.
User Experience Design (or UX Design) is all about improving the experience between people and the technology interfaces they utilize – ultimately trying to create experiences that are intuitive, easy, and even fun for the specific user group the technology targets.
UX Designers use a variety of methodologies and tools to accomplish this – borrowing from psychology, cognitive science, sociology, art, and computer science. In this course, I will walk you through the major knowledge areas of UX Design, and get you started on a path to a UX career.
